The Song Bird and the Healing Waters is a Native American Folk tale by Cyrus MacMillan. I adapted the tale to be a story about the strength of women and the power of love. I was tired of hearing tales always about the prince or warrior saving the day. Not this time! Two strong women warriors set out on a quest to find the healing waters and save their beloved son. Along the way they are reminded just how important nature is in providing for us, and that we are meant to care for the earth. illustrations were done in gouache on toned paper.
