Model Card Concept Design

Model Card Design Concepts
Model cards are often used within modelling agencies to define people's measurements, style, name and contact information.

I created these model cards as part of an assignment using different models, actors or athletes to showcase variations of design ideas in regards to layout and arrangement of imagery.
Cindy Kimberly’s front model card was inspired by its vibrant pink candy theme from the original image captured by the photographer. The lines of her sharp facial features were exaggerated with white brush lines in an artistic manner like a highlighter. Following photos were shown in an 80s outfit that I linked to a retro font style and black/white palette, I also left the original photo color's untouched. Her measurements were also aligned in a way where the text is clearly seen alongside, using a bold style; a mini polaroid in the corner with another picture has also been used.
Henry Cavil's front model card featured a formal coat with his grown out facial hair moustache and stubble look that I loved. It was more of a winter look in that photo which I carried over to his other card where he is wearing a suit blazer. The pose is also similar to his Superman role that is extremely iconic and impactful when paying close attention. Text placement has also been arranged in a way where the eye can easily see the two visual elements clearly. Lastly a casual scenic beach background photo was used for his card featuring measurements as I thought the short sleeve look showcased Henry's build really well. Stats have also been placed in a bottom corner.
Lewis Hamilton, one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers alive and his astonishing accomplishments outside of the sporting world was another model card I wanted to show. Lewis has a strong interest in the fashion scene with his Tommy Hilfiger collaboration that is now sponsoring Mercedes AMG F1. I used Lewis Hamilton's GQ photos wearing a semi see through outfit in his following cards, I got these very western theme vibes that I wanted to carry on with a light pink font theme. 44 his racing number was used as a design detail alongside stars for his measurements to show each WDC (seven) I also used the AMG logo on the bottom hand corner to minimize the negative spacing for the measurement card.
Overall, I really enjoyed creating these model cards for an assignment which I absolutely love to showcase my different thinking processes within design. I truly believe working on various projects allows me to express my ideas freely while improving areas that may be a reality one day. Using elements and information is all about design. How can a user see further within an image and what they could get out of it.
