A key list of characteristics to look out for when identifying:
Fruiting body – shape, colour and size.
Gills – in particular how they attach to the stem, a spore print can also be taken.
Stem – shape, colour, size.
Smell and texture.
Habitat.
Do not eat any fungi that have not been properly identified by a qualified professional, some are DEADLY when ingested (all species MUST BE cooked).
