Uber Social Media Ads
For this school assignment, we were tasked with creating several images for a company to use in their social media campaign. We had to pick a company and create a new product/service to promote. I chose Uber and created a service called UberRents, where people can rent their car to someone else to use. This time frame can range anywhere from a day to a few weeks, up to the renter. This is especially beneficial for those that have an extra car laying around and want to make a little side money, or for those that are on vacation and not using their car anyways. For this project, we had to create two instagram images, two twitter images, and one twitter header.

Client: Student Project
Role: Production Artist
Size of Instagram Images: 1,080px X 1,350px
 Size of Twitter Images: 1,200px X 675px
Size of Twitter Header: 1,500px X 500px
Software: Adobe Photoshop
Above are the thumbnail sketches I drew during the brainstorming process of this project. I experimented with a lot of different concepts before coming to my final designs.
Here is the final design for one of my Instagram images. For this one, I just color corrected the photo a little to match Uber's Instagram, then added the text. I found a font online that looked like a paint pen and warped the text around the back window of the car to make it look like it was written on. This gives the photo a road trip effect, which is welcoming and inviting for new users and gives them an idea of what they can use UberRents for.
Here is another one of my final Instagram images. For this one, I was inspired by a picture already on their Instagram with the blue background and car vector. I did the same thing for my social media ad to keep with brand consistency. I used a layer mask to cut out the car and added a picture of myself on there, as the renter in this case. I also created a calendar graphic to represent the days they are renting the car.
This is one of my final twitter images. For this one, I found a template in their brand style guide that had a white "U" shape. With this design, the photo in the top center of the photo creates a "U" around it. I added a blue rectangle behind the photo for variety and brand style, with the color blue being their safety color. Lastly, I added the new logo in the bottom center for simplicity.
This is the other final twitter image. For this design, I color corrected the image to be slightly less warm to match Uber's brand identity. Then, I used their brand font to add text in the corners, using asymmetrical balance to create a well-balanced photo.
This is my final twitter header design. After looking at their pre-existing banner, I decided to keep it simple with a photo and black shape. The triangle shape points in the direction of the car, leading the eye to all of the possibilities with UberRents.
