Dome Mars Base by Innspace
Dome is the idea of a martian base using shape memory materials. The concept uses a significant daily temperature amplitude on Mars, which reaches several dozen degrees. Under the influence of temperature changes over the course of the day, the petal-shaped parts of the dome bend towards the center of the base, giving access to natural light and at the same time creating a dome that allows for additional space protected against radiation.
At night, the flakes return to their place and become an additional layer that insulates the interior of the base against low temperature. On the inside of the petals, there are flexible solar panels that provide energy, and the very movement of the petals causes the panels to self-clean from martian dust.
