ABOUT THE COLLABORATION:
CISNIENIE is a polish band mixing alternative sounds, jazz with ambient and post-rock, strongly influenced by Mogwai and Swans with very experimental approach.
The design process is a continuation of the collaboration with CISNIENIE, which began with the previous release — the „Brass Album” recorded with the band Lód 9 and the KWK Wujek Brass Band. „Brass Album” has been appreciated by alternative music industry. The visual identity of the album and promo animation was awarded in the prestigious Polish Graphic Design Awards in June 2020.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The main task was to create a visual identity for the latest album „Radio Edit”, which is a deceptive title as all the songs on the album are longer than the 3 minutes usually played on the radio. Each of them has a unique climax and the whole album hypnotizes and attracts with its unpredictable compositions. It's a kind of rebellion against the current rules of the music market, a voice of opposition and a satire on commercialism. In the graphic design and animation I wanted to bring out this rebellious and subversive character, referring to anti-aesthetics, entropy and experimentation.
