On the way of Self- Discovery

Embrace
My mother's sweater and mine. Sweater for my mother's warmth, her fragrance, her embrace. I tried to symbolically represent her embracing me.

The pink sweater
I wouldn't call it 'A' pink sweater because it's not something impersonal to me. I just wanted to go as close to my mother's sweater as possible. That made me spend some time with her fragrance. It made me feel something strong. After a point I could start seeing something coming out of it. ' If you look too long into the abyss, the abyss looks back into you."
Corners
My mother had a downward twitch on the corners of her lips. I inherited it. I used to love that about her, something that usually gives a face a strong  " No cares given" look. But it wasn't the same with her, it made her smile appear even more beautiful and kind. This was another one of my attempts to find her, in me, through my characteristics.

This previous series of work started to make me think about the nooks and corners of my characteristics as a person, and what defined me. It also made me think of how others perceive me, or identify me when they look at me, apart from my face. What are those characteristics that give me my name, or identity? I painted this thinking of all those unnoticed small areas of me that might or might not be able to give away my identity.
