SOS depopulation
Small Italian municipalities are depopulating more and more rapidly because there is no work and therefore there is no prospect of the future, so people go in search of well-being in large cities.
This is also happening in the country where I live, Sant'Onofrio, a small town in Southern Italy, where for years there has been a demographic decline as more and more people move especially to Northern Italy.
The infographic shows how the population of Sant'Onofrio has changed in the ten years from 2011 to 2020, focusing on the difference between the natural movement of the population, therefore born and dead, and the migratory flow of the population, i.e. registry from other municipalities or from abroad and deleted from the registry from other municipalities or from abroad.
