Puzzle Poem
My hands are strong
and will guide your eyes.
Misread me and you’ll regret it.
Like an argument getting nowhere,
I go around and around,
with no signs of stopping.

I’ve been wrong before,
but I don’t blame myself.
If you’re bored, keep your eyes on me.

Remember, I’m more important to you
then I am to myself.

If all else fails,
fingers and toes exhausted.
Just remember, you can count on me!

Sound Poem
Flashing lights, booming sound.
Deafening almost.
Packed to a pulp, with shoulders and hands rubbing.
Is this truly the definition of clubbing?

Drinks distinctly dizzying my vision,
incapable of concentration, can’t remember my mission.
An entrancing glance, an enticing invitation.
Again it’s clear, the reason why I’m here stationed.

I must go to her, not wait,
in order to lift it off my shoulders.
Primal instincts, the most contemporary of settings.
The past is what I pray I’m forgetting.

Industrial Revelations
“Change”, I think,
aloud to myself.
Dirty air fills my lungs
and depressing thoughts fill my head.

Horse and buggy replaced
by a monster.
Made from metal,’
slowly emitting muck into the air.

The water below me
flows in a strange direction.
I’m looking for answers
but must stop looking down.

Shadows from the sun,
illuminate my uncertainty.

The sun, standing high and tall
natural, clean and efficient.
Please don’t set yet

                                                                                                                          RainDrop Sonnet
Crashing down from a sea of shady gray.

Just one of many, they're each not unique.
Each one leaving an invisible streak.

Cutting through air like a knife through butter.

      Barely missing a bypassing bird.
The journey is on, unmatched in the world.

The essence of life contained in its walls.
The first of many, they fall and they fall.

All alone this raindrop stands powerless.

That first drop becomes one with the ocean.
More like it sends the waves in full motion.

The storm augments. People run away scared.

Once alone, this raindrop now garner’s fear
Rain once tame, destruction now becomes clear.

Press Release Example
ANCIENT CREATURE REAKS HAVOC ON CITY

New York City, NY (April 21st, 2014) –
If you are reading this, then you’re in luck; you are still alive. At approximately 2:35 AM ET on April 21st, 2014 a giant reptile-like lizard emerged from the bottom of New York Harbor and began terrorizing Manhattan. The monster is estimated to be 20 stories tall and weigh over 20,000 tons.
If you haven’t already, you should locate all loved ones in the known area and stick together.

City evacuations are at a dead halt, so the best course of action is to get to the nearest basement and stay low! The monster is demolishing buildings at its eye level but has not yet figured out how to bend over. The United States Federal Government has dispatched most of its military to Manhattan, but thus far resistance is futile.

“Take your soldiers back Mr. President! The NYPD has everything and everyone we need to take this beast down!” said Edward Turner, Chief of New York’s police force. Although his confidence is admirable, we here at NYC Disaster Relief would like to say that any and all help is extremely necessary.

The beast is being referred to as “Godzilla”. The use of nuclear weapons during World War II has created him and we have a feeling society’s obsession with “Keeping up with the Kardashians” has unleashed him from his watery hiding spot.

At NYC Disaster Relief, our goal is to be there for you. Whether it’s the wind and rain of a hurricane, the earth-cracking rumblings of an earthquake or the presence of 20 story tall reptilian, we want New York City to remain safe. Since 1960, we have been putting your tax dollars to good use.
For more information, visit us online at NYC.disasterrelief.com. We are open from 9AM to 5PM Monday – Friday as long as our entire civilization hasn’t been turned to dust.
