— Does it feel like Birthday yet?

I thought about it for a while. No. 

For three consecutive years, I cry on my Birthdays from the overwhelming feeling of bitterness. I feel the salt on my tongue and the burning in my eyes when I'm about to make that special wish. I think of all the wishes that didn't come true. I imagine a ten year old girl clapping right next to me, singing Happy Birthday, still hoping for those wishes to come alive. 

I actually do feel like it's my Birthday today. I feel the most sad today, and it feels right.
