THANOS is a personal illustration project.
Using a combination of traditional ink illustration and digital colouring, the image colour production was pushed using halftone layering along with a combination of manual stressing and distortion.
The aim was to push virtual retro illustration to a point where it's hard to tell wether the textural effects are nostalgic or futuristic. An animated video loop was finally created to add one final dimension to the graphic, with the addition of analogue video warping and disfigurement as a reinterpretation of Thanos' final snap using the Infinity Gauntlet in Marvels Avengers Infinity War.
