The Maun water project, which I worked on as an employee of ELW Global, involved the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of a water purification plant in Maun, Botswana.
The plant which was built into two 20 ft containers was designed and manufactured in Johannesburg and then transported by road to Botswana.
The plants, which ran off diesel generators, were installed near the local river from where they pumped and then purified the water using a reverse osmosis system. The purified water was stored in tanks placed on the roofs of the containers before being distributed to the local residents by tankers.
