The Sticker Project

For this Project we had almost complete creative freedom to design whatever we wanted as long as we didn't infringe on someone else's intellectual property. We were assigned to make a set of three stickers that were cohesive. I chose to make a set modeled after American Legends, John Henry, Johnny Appleseed and Paul Bunyan.

Sketches

These are some of the sketches I did of potential sticker ideas. As you can see, I had some difficulty wit making cohesive sets of three and would often end up with only two that would work together. Ultimately I chose to do something completely unrelated to the sketches that I had done, but may still use some of these ideas in the future.

Rough Drafts

The rough drafts I did were more of just steps in the overall process. I didn't necessarily scrap any of my work, but instead improved upon it and added to it. As you can see, I changed some of the coloring, elongated John's neck and started messing around with the form of Johnny Appleseed.

The Final Cut

Here are the final drafts of my American Legends stickers. If I did it over again, I would make Johnny Appleseed's skin more vibrant a color and probably position him face on like I did with Paul and John Henry. That would at to the cohesiveness of the set. Overall though, I am pleased with how these turned out.
