Go Green : Farm-To-Table

The project is to design a sustainable urban organic farming community centre & eatery with a total area of 10,000 square feet, located at 56, Jalan University 46200 Peta ling Jaya. It is a collaboration between Malaysia Green Building Council (GBC) and Urban Hijau, named Go Green : Farm To Table. The centre aims to provide urban sustainability in food production that are closer to where people lives in Malaysia.

Sunken Lounge
It is an open dining area surrounds vegetations and fish pond. A reflection of the incandescent sunlight beating down on the waters. Such "water dining" experience is part of what makes this place unique and one-of-a-kind.
For a nature-inspired look, the spiral staircase is accompanied by an artificial waterfall to cool up the entire area so that the electricity usage can be minimised.
Water dining showcases organic food produced using aquaponic system where organic waste from aquatic livestock is being used as essential nutrients to grow vegetables.
The teahouse is located at the end of the lower ground floor. The site is surrounded by interior landscape and a glass curtain wall facing the outdoor terrace, and it is predefined by multiple stepped platforms accessible from one single path. In response to the context, the design features imagery of "Plank Path -Water Surface - Floating Hut - Ship Deck Garden" by making use of the existing floor height difference creating a sunken plaza.
Waiting Area & Community Lounge
Here, anybody can choose to plant seeds in a hydroponic tank, and monitor their growth. Once a person plants a seed in the hydroponic farm, an Internet-of-Things devices will match his or her profile with that of the corresponding plant. When the vegetable is finally ripe, the visitor can collect it from the pavilion to be eaten or given away.

The hydroponic store is located at the rooftop to culticate self-planting habits among the kids and encourage their parents to buy hydroponic seedlings for their kids to plant at home.
