The Book'night Alphabet

These manuscripts are made to imitate ancient artwork and scrolls. The writing is made to look completely incomprehensible to understand. This is what makes viewers feel more distanced from the piece due to their lack of knowledge about it even though the drawings and text themselves mean nothing at all.

My inspiration came from artist Luigi Serafini who wrote the book "Codex Seraphinianus." It is a manuscript full of nonsensical drawings and language specifically made to mess with peoples heads.
