Dreams

UX/User research/Team leader
Project time span: Feb - Apr (2021)
Client: Dreams AB
Tools: Miro, Figma, Facebook, online survey
My contribution:
Team leader, user research, wireframing, low fidelity and high fidelity prototyping
My challenge:
How can dreams understand what our customers needs are and tailor the up/cross-sell based on this on our app?
In order to do the task I chose to use design thinking and the double diamond method as working method while working online with my team.
We had daily stand up sessions planned each day and spread the tasks between me and my team. Each person having different responsibilities
USER RESEARCH
By gathering data through online interviews and surveys plus comparing other similar apps, we solidified our hypothesis. Interviewing, ex-users, non-users and current users was necessary to understand their saving habits, the problems they had and why they liked or disliked the app.
After identifying the problems we came up with relevant ideas and solutions,Using miro for almost every step, we wrote all of them down on sticky notes and cherry picked the best ones that matched with our data satisfy our users unmet needs.
Low-fidelity prototyping and testing
Based on the results of our data we came to the conclusion that the users needed more than the app has as most of them agreed with the statement" Dreams does not offer enough features for me to give me a good reason to pay".

We came up with new features both in user friendliness and personalisation. Images below are low-fidelity experiments that have been tested on different users for feedback.
OUR RESULTS
After gathering relevant data and testing users on our low-fidelity prototype we finalised our designs which gave us the following results.
- When it comes to user friendliness we added font size, colour scheme and day/night theme. There were many users that felt satisfied just with the new personalisation features.

- Also a lot of people wanted tutorials and guides, we added video tutorials to ease the onboarding process.

- By adding a mascot we gave the user a wizard that would teach them everything needed to know. A friendly piggy to help you save money and teach you new tips which improves cross/upsell based on the users saving habits.
