I created this poster to fulfill a “technical drawing" assignment. The original was in black and white per the project requirements, but I brought it into full color and printed a small run of tabloid-size posters.
The pistol depicted is the renowned Colt Model 1911 developed to fire a powerful 45-caliber cartridge and entering service with the United States Army in the early twentieth century. I strove for accuracy in the illustration of all parts, but I cannot guarantee perfection. I assembled different photographs and then traced all the pieces in Adobe Illustrator.
