Beijing Smog Claw Machine

Started off with this.
Problem:
Redesign a coin-operated machine to address a political or social issue.

Solution:
Designed my claw machine’s exterior with Beijing architecture. The prizes were chinese food containers with masks that I printed graphics on to represent the pollutants and the causes of the smog. Inside my prize pit I wired a smoke machine to flow through the mini model of smoke stacks to show what Biejing residents see, breathe and live in everday.

The graphics that were printed on masks:
- mercury (periodic symbols)
- carbon (periodic symbols)
- lead (periodic symbols)
- smoke stacks
- mercury element liquid
- fire
