This project is to transform a historic building into a residential especially aging population. Universal design approach is important in this project in order to cater for people of different needs. The proposed project will house cafe, day-care centre for room, and four different types of apartments. The original location of cafe will be unchanged, but the kitchen. The building has been protected very well. In the new design, the fabrics of the building will be kept, only two modern oriel windows with gabled roof will be added to the rear of the building, and a window on ground floor will be replaced to a door access to the playground, residence private car park and residence private garden. They are all facing the coast road. For the interior part, new openings will be created on some of the existing walls to connect spaces, and some of the walls or building elements which are non-original will be demolished to create practical spaces.
