Celebrating the boldness of the Cyrillic letterforms, in particular the Russian Cyrillic, and supporting the ‘metamorphosis of the Cyrillic script’ @we.are.cyrillic was hosting 33+ challenge in the summer of 2021. I joined the project for one week where I challenged myself to produce tactile letterform each day.
This work was runner-up for the Creative Quarterly 65.
As I was away from my own studio at the time, I used an improvised studio. I drew inspiration from the brilliant work of set designer Shona Heath and Voynich Botanical Studies by artist-duo Miljohn Ruperto and Ulrik Heltoft. Materials I used various plants and flowers I found on the street or the flower market.
