(Before - After) California Gateways cover. Illustration Modification Example
This is an illustration used for cover art in the CA Gateways program published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2008. The illustration was taken in-house because of scheduling concerns, and I was tasked to finish it. In this case, I needed to take away a good part of the center background through the trees because the horizon was not used to its full potential in the original. I added the illusion of a lot of hidden space over a rise, and added buildings in the background. Lots of shadow and color values were changed in the vector file, and then more finessing was done in Photoshop.

This is an illustration used for cover art in the CA Gateways program published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2008. The illustration was taken in-house because of a scheduling concerns, and I was tasked to finish it. I had to rebuild a lot of the left hand of the illustration for bleed since more sky was needed in the layout for the titling. I also built the sky in, trying to match the illustration style.
