North Shore Transit Project

A simple overview of what a potential BRT style transit connection would look like coming off the northbound side of the 2nd Narrows Bridge
An overview of a couple of potential BRT offshoots to connect to the Exchange and follows boundary towards Sanderson, BCIT and Metrotown. The pink roads are either existent or future roads that will facilitate rapid bus connection
In my first days of using Twinmotion, I decided to take a cup that I have rendered from TinkerCAD in grade 8. I ported it up with one of the Quixle Megascanned tables and created my first project.
As I started developing the idea of making transit connections to the North Shore, I had come up with a basic idea of the route that I wanted to take. Originally designed as a Skytrain route, it tunnels under the Burnaby Heights neighbourhood, bridges over the inlet, and stops at Phibbs, Moodyville and Lonsdale with the future prospect of expanding to Park Royal.
As I was trying to figure out how to put together assets for my project. I experimented with custom designing buildings. I ended up with this townhouse with a train tunnel underneath. I am quite proud of how well this turned out.
Here is a video showing the full 360 of the model
This was my final plan for the route extension of the Expo Line. I had originally planned to make a branch off of the millennium line, but as the route looked more fitting for a bus route, I decided to have an expo line expansion that would allow redevelopment on the DTES, East Van, the recovery of the PNE and all of the North Shore Stations.
I found a model of the Skybridge across the Fraser. As I quite liked the cable design, so I decided to incorporate it into the scene. This is one of my first basic overviews of the area using fairly new RDC mesh software to create a somewhat accurate poly-mesh of satellite imagery.
I had fun with different angles of the render. In hindsight, the towers may be a bit of a disturbance to the neighbours. Oh well.
I managed to make a clearer render of the Phibbs Exchange bus loop in Sketchup so I decided to import it. I did not have enough time to custom design my own station, so I decided to get a bit creative. I found a free Thai Skytrain station model in the 3D Warehouse. In the future, I hope to see if I can develop my own models.
Here is the final overview of the Skytrain connection around Phibbs. I am fairly happy with my work. In the future, I would make more scenes and see if I can up my quality in the future. I hope that eventually my work will be considered and we can convince Translink and our local governments to keep the quality transit developing for years to come.
