Golden Age of Cinema Video

Golden Age of Cinema Video
This video was created to be a part of the History of Cinema virtual reality scene on the Avantis World virtual theme park. The scene itself was created by a member of the education services team, and was developed with input from myself and one of the marketing team into what form the scene could take, what it could involve, the setting and what objects could be contained within it.

The central idea was to have a cinema in the scene, with a film playing in the auditorium featuring various aspects of the golden age of cinema. From there I researched the design of cinemas from the years that period covered, as well as looking at film stock types of the era, adverts, styles of advertising, posters and what the cinematic experience was like. I developed the ideas for the video, recreating, designing and animating elements from scratch, as well as sourcing suitable video footage, still images, music and sound effects to be used (as well as inserting some subtle cinematic Easter eggs throughout the video!).

In addition to this, I also designed two potential layouts to show the 3D designer in how the scene might be laid out, as well as designing signage and posters for the cinema for the 3D designer to use (shown below), plus researching and supplying them with imagery of golden age era cinemas to help inspire the look and design of the cinema in the scene.
