PARK HOUSE
location: Kharkiv, Ukraine
function: family house
area: 770 m2
status: preliminary design (2022)
architect / visualization: Evgeniy Kolesnikov
The goal of the project is to create an environment in which the residents would feel at home all around the site. In the formation of the living environment, the characteristic features of the area were used. The house is located at the point of best perception of the environment. The result is an interesting plot of a hiking route through the territory with a view of the pine forest. The trees on the south-east side have been partially shaded to create a sunny area on the pool deck, while on the south-west side, the tree crowns, on the contrary, protect against unpleasant western rays in summer.
The house is divided into 4 blocks, which are united by a common atrium space with overhead light. The working unit is located at the entrance area, as it provides for a large number of clients and does not penetrate into common spaces. The living room block overlooks the forest part of the site. The block of bedrooms for parents and children is as far as possible from the living room and working areas. The children's rooms face east and have their own courtyard playground.
Function / Atrium / Volume
Consisting of four independent units, the house explores the balance between the private and the communal, where each member of the family has their own autonomous space. The representatives of the younger generation have their own studios with independent access and their own private terraces.
Masterplan
Compositionally, the plot is clearly divided into two zones: the garden and the house. Different types of spaces are created in order to celebrate the advantages of living close to nature, suggesting a variety of scenarios of experiencing the garden as an integral part of living environment. Structurally, the main volume consists of four consecutive parts united by the entrance gallery that follows the landscape reaching the main level. The core of the house is a living room integrated with a summer terrace by means of sliding doors.

The technical block of working premises for personnel, such as: laundry, furnace, car wash and draft kitchen, are located in such a way that the pedestrian flows of personnel do not intersect with the owners.
