In 2018, I had the honor of being deeply involved in the Empire Cinema project in Jizan, Saudi Arabia, marking my inaugural venture into cinema design. This groundbreaking endeavor introduced a new cutting-edge cinematic experience previously absent in the region. As part of the design and execution team, my role was pivotal in shaping the vision of this historic project. We worked tirelessly to integrate state-of-the-art technologies such as IMAX and 4DX, ensuring that the cinema would offer a truly immersive and unforgettable viewing experience. From meticulously designing the layout to overseeing the implementation of complex projection systems, acoustics, lighting, and insulation, every aspect was carefully considered to meet and exceed international standards.
Structural coordination was paramount to ensure the safety and stability of the theaters while accommodating the sophisticated equipment necessary for modern cinema operation. Additionally, attention to detail extended to the amenities and facilities, including concessions, premium seating, and luxurious interiors, all aimed at providing moviegoers with unparalleled comfort and enjoyment.
Against the backdrop of evolving cultural dynamics and changing laws in Saudi Arabia, the opening of the Empire Cinema marked a significant milestone, symbolizing a newfound openness to diverse forms of entertainment. Today, it stands as a beacon of cultural progression, enriching the local community with its world-class cinematic offerings under the prestigious Empire chain of movies. As the first cinema project I worked on, I feel immense satisfaction in the lasting impact it has made on the entertainment landscape of Jizane and beyond.
