Hand lettering quote from J.R.R. Tolkien. Tolkien wrote in a letter:
“I am in fact a Hobbit (in all but size). I like gardens, trees and unmechanized farmlands; I smoke a pipe, and like good plain food (unrefrigerated), but detest French cooking; I like, and even dare to wear in these dull days, ornamental waistcoats. I am fond of mushrooms (out of a field); have a very simple sense of humour (which even my appreciative critics find tiresome); I go to bed late and get up late (when possible). I do not travel much.”

This design shows off the single Mallorn nut that was given as a gift from Galadriel to Samwise, encased in a simple grey wooden box with a silver G rune. the box also contained dirt from Galadriel’s orchard which is included in the design as part of the starburst around the nut.
This design is for the 5 wizards, or Istari, sent to Middle-earth. Simple icons created from three lines represent each wizard: Saruman the White is a mouth, Gandalf the Grey is a G rune, Radagast the Brown is a bird foot, and the two blue wizards are simply arrows pointing east because so little is known about them.
This design represents Durin, who was the eldest of the Seven Fathers of the Dwarves, each represented by a star, with the middle and most prominent star being Durin. A hammer and anvil are emblems of Durin, and the three-peaked mountain is Gundabad, the mountain where Durin awoke. The design is contained within the shape of a trilliant-cut jewel.
In J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion, Lúthien (also known as Tinúviel which means “nightingale”) with Beren’s help, entered Morgoth’s fortress, put him under an enchantment, and took a Silmaril from his iron crown. The star and three dots on the nightingale are pulled from one of the heraldic devices that Tolkien created for Lúthien.
Smaug destroying Lake-town, inspired by the poem Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold:
“The bells were ringing in the dale
And men looked up with faces pale;
The dragon’s ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.”

Monochrome design of all the weapons belonging to the members of the Fellowship. The Hobbits' daggers from the Barrow-downs are based off the description from the book, while the other weapons are designs from the Jackson movie.
Design for Tolkien Reading Day's theme Hope & Courage, chosen by the Tolkien Society. I thought think the Phial of Galadriel, which contains the light of the Star of Eärendil, is an excellent symbol for hope and courage.
