Who is John Doe?
This project is a charcoal drawing of a mannequin—the challenge is to sketch a mannequin, but to think outside the box. The original picture of the mannequin for context, is a shot from below, looking up at the mannequin and having the ceiling as the background.
My strategy for this sketch is to create something as interesting as possible. The original drawing is looking up at the mannequin from below, but once the drawing was complete, I knew there was something more that I could add. That is when the bottom half of the drawing was completed, which shows the mannequin as a person on an autopsy table.
My favorite author is Stephen King, and the book cover and the title “John Doe” shows mystery and suspense. Who is this person on the autopsy table? That is the question I want people to ask, who is John Doe?
