A flock of bird families were feeding in the garden on a July afternoon when I took this photograph. This photo shows a growing juvenile starling. It was accompanied by its family too. There were about 15 of them altogether.
This year, we've had over 50 of them. Perhaps the neighbours became fed up with all the squabbling and stopped feeding them!
Starlings are most active in feeding on bird feeders in English gardens during the summer when the young are growing up.
