AFTERNOON IN ROTTERDAM / 22.07.09
My love-hate relationship with this city.
Rotterdam, to me, is different than any cities around Europe. To be honest, I hated at first (maybe still?). Personally, I am kinda a "historical-core" person, loving all the castles, old villages, museums, everything related to the past. Going to Europe to pursuit higher education was 100% my thing. So city in the Netherlands hah? Sound interesting.
But I guess I forgot to look for pictures of this city on Google...

The first time I came to this city 2 years ago, I was in a big shock because it was 1000% not my expectation of an European city. After all my trip to Amsterdam, Helsinki, Heidelberg, Paris, etc., Rotterdam felt a bit more and more behind regarding my standard.
But that is the end of the "Hate" part.
However, I must say that no where in Europe gives me a feeling of home like Rotterdam. Back from a trip faraway, it was a relief to be back, riding the same old metro line, seeing the familiar architecture.
