This fantasy series is entirely lit by "fire." That is, each lantern hanging from the ceiling and in each alcove contains illuminated flames on intersecting alpha planes as well as a yellow and white light as does the fire pit. The dappled shadows are cast on the walls of the room by the cutouts in each lantern—thus the rich, warm colors and soft multiple shadows cast by the various characters in each of the three sceens.
The Fire QueenDon't let her demure appearance fool you. She's hot! No really—she's HOT!
The scenes are created in Vue 11 Complete and the Fire Queens skin is shaded using Skin Vue.
Dragon Attack—Old nemeses face each other once more in battle. Neither have ever defeated the other. This time will be different. One will not see another sunrise.
Fighting Fire with Fire—Weakened by the battle and age, the old knight falls but tries to get up. The archers come to his defense, but their arrows are no match for the dragon. In final desperation, the Fire Queen comes to the defense of her fallen father. She uses her unique power to defeat the dragon… the power her father had begged her never to use.
A material mask was created for the area of the dragon's torso that is burning from the Fire Queen's flames. In the masked area, a glowing lava material was applied so the dragon appears to be burning internally.
