This is a personal project created as a gift for one of my friends. My inspiration came from her love of the zodiac signs and tarot reading while keeping in mind her overall personality and look as well. I created this custom tarot card as a birthday gift for her and as a way to remember our friendship each time she takes a glance at it.
I created a color palette by using colors that are representative for her look and aesthetic so the card will look like something she would pick herself.
I combined two different tarot cards from the Major Arcana, The Moon and The Power, putting together the two corresponding cards for the Pisces and Leo zodiac signs, which are mine and hers.
I used the Moon and the Sun(power) symbols from the mentioned tarot cards which represent me and her and our bond as friends, being on the same card in this case. As for the style, I combined the light of the Leo symbol with the darkness the Moon has around it. I used a gradient for the sky to mimic the sunset and remind of the Sun symbol one more time.
Instead of a lion, I chose to use a lioness to directly represent my friend on the card. The lioness also sits on a small island on a dark body of water which is a symbol for the Pisces sign, just to make another connection between the cards I used for inspiration.
As details I can mention the end of the lioness's tail, which is illustrated as fire, the lion being the symbol for the Leo zodiac sign, a fire sign. I have also placed an earring in the shape of the infinity sign in the lioness's ear as it's a symbol present on The Power tarot card.
