São Tomé
This project is based only on a travel note to the island of São Tomé, archipelago of São Tomé and Príncipe, in July 2022, in five days of photography that turn out to be brief moments and memories when compared to the total time donated to the communication with people, with the landscape, with the climate, with the elements.
The extension of the project is justified by the indication of these passages of time, which in the near future may be dedicated to the color editing of these same memories.
To that extent, they are a precious help for the construction of ideas. Beyond the colors of that imagined blue skies and green horizons stretched out in vivid contrasts and vibrant brilliance, all the strength of the elements, especially the warm and humid air of this equatorial climate, are the result of the no less important and unique geographical location, where there is almost no difference between high tide and low tide, where the seasons are counted by two fingers, alternately, rainy season, and summer.

The sea calls for us, we are islanders!
We carry salt and foam in our hands
we sing in the canoes
we dance in the mist
we are fishermen
of spring tides where you hid
our soul is ignorant
our island people
our island rocks with the waves
and brings to spread itself in the sand of History
the voice of the gandu
in our memory...
We are the crossbreeding of a god who wanted to show
to the universe our stained color
we resist the vortex of time
to the appeals of nothing
we will continue to plant cocoa coffee
and eating breadfruit for taste
children of the sun and the bush
torn from the pain of slavery.
