I am an artist, and I always admire good work regardless of who created it or where it belongs. I came upon this landscape art about Singapore and its famed Jewel airport when looking for inspiration for my next work. The artwork is a mix of painting and drawing done with watercolor pencils.

The choice of color pencils is a major factor in the art's beauty. Watercolor pencils, while extremely different from brush painting, have various uses that result in very different paintings.

To mention a few, they can be used dry or with water added to the tip and then applied to dry watercolor paper or a dry pencil on wet watercolor paper. Watercolor pens, such as this one, also provide greater control and inventiveness when drawing or creating. Furthermore, when it comes to learning this challenging medium, watercolor pencils can be more forgiving.

After I finished watching the video, I went in quest of the artist's beautiful color pencils. These were Amazrock watercolor pencils.

These color pencils have a solid 3.4 mm soft core and colorful lead sticks. Based on the artist's use of these colors in the video, I can tell that the color intensity of these shades means that a small amount may go a long way to covering large sections of the paper and that while they are initially heavy and gritty when dry, once wet, they are creamy and silky. Furthermore, the simplicity with which these colors can be blended makes this 36-piece pigment set quite versatile. 

After seeing this lovely work of art, I'm inspired to make my own using the same material.
