Clay Sculpting | Green Sea Turtle
This is a miniature model of Green Sea Turtle made using polymer clay, to spread awareness for preserving this nature's creation. Turtles are also one of the unique creatures of nature in terms of physical features and characteristics. I adore how turtles appear calm, grounded and are determined on their own path no matter what. They're slow moving on land but incredibly swift and agile in the water.
The name comes not from the color of its skin or shell, which is common among most sea turtle species, but from the greenish color of its fat. The green turtle is the only sea turtle that is a strict herbivore as an adult, and its diet of sea grass and algae may contribute to the green fatty tissue.
Green Sea Turtles are listed as Endangered species by the IUCN with their major threats being - over harvesting of their eggs, hunting of adults, being caught in fishing gear and loss of nesting beach sites.
A personification of patience and wisdom, Turtles are often compared with introverts for they go into hiding inside their shell when intruded.
"Behold the Turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out." - James Conant
