Nico and The Curse Of The Three Children

This illustration is my entry for a huion drawing contest : « Rewrite the Myth »
I chose to reinterpret the legend of Saint Nicolas (Santa Klaus) which is still very present in the culture of my native region: Lorraine.
This myth tells the story of the bishop Nicolas who performed a miracle by resuscitating 3 children who were victims of a murderous and cannibal butcher.
He saved the children and transformed the butcher into his servant: the bogeyman.
Since then, he visits the children a little before Christmas, accompanied by his donkey and his naughty servant, he distributes sweets to good children and subjects the others to the tortures of the bogeyman.

I imagined that Nicolas was a minor deity of the Hindu pantheon and that he was confronted by a sect of evangelical and murderous biker. He is always accompanied by his faithful Trotro, the little monkey

The composition is made like a comic’s cover because I imagine that as the first step Of a new franchise Of comics.

Thank you for watching.
