I began this series with a desire for distinct fashion photography. Instead of working with sterile, lifeless models and mass-produced clothing, I wanted to create something unique. I worked with designer Bridget Sullivan and her one-of-a-kind dresses. Every garment has special characteristics that I aimed to embody by giving my images a handmade aesthetic. Each image is like a collage, with textured paper, a photograph and an illustration. Within each frame I worked to create a small scene, and a playful, whimsical feeling with imaginary objects and animals. I think this gives my photography the life and warmth I desire, and displays the clothing in a new context. Typical fashion photography can become boring after a while-I would rather showcase creativity and heart.
