Silver Code
This dress was made during my Erasmus-stay in Poland, at the University of Fine Arts in Poznan (UAP). The topic I've chosen was "The Matrix" (1999).
Inspiration:
I wanted to create a kind of coding-atmosphere with these lights and wires. Something electronic, futuristic and mechanical - like the Matrix. I wanted to “write” this dress like a code instead of sewing it.
Work in progress:
For me this was the first time I made a dress from scratch. I tried to make a compromise between keeping it simple and still catching the mood, the vibe I wanted. That’s why I used really simple, geometric shapes and cuts. Thanks to that I got a rough, robotic dress.
