The Importance of Nature Conservation

The senior advisor at Oakland Military Institute College Prep Academy, Mary E. Streshly graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a bachelor's degree in English. Mary Streshly has taken up nature conservation as an interest.
Nature conservation is preserving biological diversity, saving species from extinction, and conserving and repairing habitats. Conserving trees and plants helps reduce flooding and coastal erosion.
Animal conservation helps prevent shifts in the food chain by preventing the extinction of certain prey that predators feed on. If animals are not well protected, they become endangered or extinct, affecting other animals and plants. Every animal impacts the ecosystem, so conserving them helps conserve the ecosystem.
By conserving the environment, air quality increases which is good for the ecosystem and society. It improves the quality of life, lowers the prevalence of lung and circulatory disorders, and protects biodiversity, aquatic ecosystems, and water quality because when the air is polluted, the precipitation that falls into the water gets affected too.
