I'd like to welcome you to this compilation of street photos, titled:
Within The Streets of Surabaya.
I particularly enjoy photographing pictures in the streets, though I don't have much experience with it as it challenges me and my current gear especially in the night where sharper photos are harder to snap.
Not too much photos for now, because my friend forgot to charge her camera before lending it to me and so the battery died midway in the streets.
I love candidness within my photos, as it portrays my subjects in their most natural state. I don't particularly like it when people notice me and pose, as their expressions may be a bit forced (especially when they smile). I prefer snapping my subjects when they're naturally smiling in a sense.
I chose to emphasize a retro kinda vibe with the colors while editing the photos as to me it fits my ideal image of street photography, where the streets are a different world in comparison indoor buildings.
I took inspiration from photographers who photograph Japan's streets in which they emphasize the more neon or purplish hues within their photos.
I hope to snap more photos when I have more time! This was my first time photographing out in the streets and I had a lot of fun.
