Description
This short animation is a mock public service announcement (PSA), where the fictional cooking channel "UoN Cooks" presents an educational video promoting the healthy eating food pyramid. Set in 80's America, this video is the third episode of the PSA and discusses the third and potentially most repulsive tier of the food pyramid: Dairy & Protein. The majority of sources promoted in the dairy & protein sections are from animals, so personifying the animals (encouraging the audience to connect to them briefly) emphasises the horrors which ensue throughout the microfilm.
The animation begins with some vaguely informational content with some slightly off- putting, but dismissible interactions. However, as the video progresses, the images begin to get more and more horrid. By the end of the video, viewers will either be squirming from terror or laughing from the abrupt and disturbing material. Audiences can take what they will from the microfilm, but one of my primary goals of the film is to be vividly memorable in the minds of the viewers.
