Heirloom Bedroom
Georgian inspired bedroom range
This is an Willis & Gambier internal project appointed by internal management to replace existing Georgian style bedroom. Aim is to higher price bracket and more decorative/functional approach. Generally this has to be bolder and more adventurous with more detailing using exotic veneers and marquetry. Something almost along lines of great US reproduction but with greater attention to details and functional sizes. Bring the era to 21st century for public to enjoy the luxury.

    * RANGE DESCRIPTION

This is classic Georgian style inspired partly by Chippendale Director and designed into collection which has been crafted from Hevea timber with Primavera veneers and finish in rich mahogany colour.
The use of intricate marquetry inlays to tops and fronts, plus the addition of a beautiful sun burst to most of the top panels and doors gives Heirloom a stunning finish.
All pieces in this range boost a classic serpentine shape to the front of doors and drawers, perfectly complementing the overall characteristics of this timeless collection.

 * THIS PROJECT WAS INTRODUCED TO WIDE PUBLIC AT NEC INTERIORS BIRMINGHAM 2010
RESEARCH
is the key at very beginning for project where I explore all possible areas and directions using variety of methods which varies from in house library wide selection of magazines and Internet search.
Inspiration
as this is Georgian style bedroom this project is directly linked to historic era in English history I research this separately to create more directional - authentic look. After while of research I found this great online book by Thomas Chippendale and his The gentleman and cabinet-maker's director. Which I find very resourceful and here is couple images functional pieces with interesting functions and shapes.
Direction
further down the line following research I created this mood board by hand picking images and laying them out to bring some of the details I would like to use for actual project. This are used as free guide and early style shape direction determination tool. There may be number of these concerning finish, hardware, style some special function. During this process I have quite clear idea where to aim so I created single mood board which bring all of them together for everybody to see this project.

Technical drawings to illustrate number of simplified technical drawings with general dimensions in JPG format I have created these in house using latest Auto cad software. Usually if time permits I create real like models in 3D to check for any unexpected problems. Each of them is done and overseen by leading designer prior to further process when they are emailed to one of our hand picked suppliers. Most of the time we accompany our technical drawings with further details which are used on every item trough out such as finish or and hardware selection. These are then send to factories so we can liaise on essential construction and future production so we are ready for final details prior to pricing - sampling - production
Here is couple of initial sample shots exploring the room setting and mood before we decided on very final version
Following all this is the end of market version of brochure showcasing the full range with overall dimensions and variety of mood setting photographs.
Thanks for looking.
