Melissa Pan's profile

Chinese Treasure

Pandas are symbolic animals of China. They are given to countries around the world to show China's friendship but there are always underlying ulterior motives. Golden Child depicts the emperor syndrome of Chinese children, they are treated like royalty. Their parents give them everything, so much so that it cripples them from real growth. The pandas carry their in a pagoda, a lion tail is revealed to show the Golden King inside.
With the second set of pandas, I wanted to point out how pandas are used politically, they are a cash source, they are used for tourism and for entertainment.

The pandas are treated like circus objects but maybe they just want to be left alone and just be pandas.
