Honeybee
3D Satisfying Loop Animation
The idea behind this project for a short looping 3D animation was set with a simple foundation: to provide a satisfying and relaxation sensorial experience to the viewer. In the begining we tried to learn a little about a generalized sense of what people consider visually and auditorily appealing. With our minds set on some ideas, we found a soft and cozy environment that transpires happiness, relaxation and that would stimulate several senses.
For us, the idea of warm colors, but not too bright, emit a sensation of tranquility, of something comfortable. We knew we wanted something organic and alive, and not something quite "industrial", therefore our scene had to be filled with warm colors and organic beings and materials, hence the honey, the bees, the wood, and others.
Bees have the sweetest beings which make the sweetest nectar on earth. Since this idea is so beautiful and bees have a rather incredibly important role on the bioactivity our choice was narrowed down.
At this point, with all of this settled we decided to opt for a background and materials that surround a bee's environment, while avoiding disturbing factors such as plants thorns, bee stings or other patterns that could cause trypophobia.
In the end we decided to bring forth an organic environment filled with soft floating particles, some very round-shaped bees with added soft greenery on the scene. The focus would be on the honeycomb being slowly filled with dripping honey as the viewer hears "white noises" and other warm and cozy sounds.
