Motivation
Our lives in cities may change by the year 2040. Everyday life might not take place in the city center, but in many small centers, the neighborhood quarters. Mobility then is shared, it is ecological and on-demand. In a growing sharing society, it requires new ways of individualization. In the pursuit of individualization and digitization, our status symbols are also expanding. Premium is already being defined in areas such as culture, health, personalized products and experiences.
Task
A cargobike, that is only as big as necessary to prevent insecurities with the use and to save space as well as that adapts to the needs of customization in a shared environment.
VR Concept
The first ideas that come out of the research on paper and in VR materialize in the bicycle concept for the Gen Alpha. The concept is not yet close to reality, but it creates „possibility scopes“. Starting from this potential future concept, I went back a few steps to create a concept that is closer to production. The core ideas have not disappeared in this process, but have been translated into a more feasible format.
Solution
The functional vertical frame not only includes the steering bar, but also includes a mounting groove. This groove at the front and rear allows you to attach personal items as well as your own bike bag. On the front, it is used to fix transport goods.
Cargo
Tech Specs
The bike for the Gen Alpha is with 2 meters in length about 50cm shorter than most short Cargobikes.
Technical elements are of a darker color and slightly more edgy. Elements for interaction are predominantly light and have a softer design language. The L-shaped main frame narrows upwards in the sitting area to make it easier to access the bike.
The luggage rack above the rear wheel allows a child seat to be attached, which is a safer position than in the cargo area.
Details
Smart Companion
The smart companion is attached to the handle. It includes an AI chatbot that entertainingly assists with navigation, completes tasks, and enhances the riding experience.

3D-Knit
The 3D-knitted seat is customized and brought along by the individual users themselves and is slipped onto the seat shell.

3D Print
Elements that are attached to the frame can be 3D printed and personalized, such as the smartphone holder.
