WEBSITE RE-DESIGN
PROJECT BRIEF
For this project we have been assigned the task to create, imagine and redesign the Nebraska, Loup County Website. Using our skills in developing four scenarios with current technology.
BRAINSTROMING
As I was thinking about this project, I was excited to see how to improve my skills and learn new ones. This will challenge my skills set, as I feel I am stuck in the 1900's with any type of computer design technology programing.
RESEARCH
Well the beginning research on the current website for Loup County, Nebraska was interesting. There was much to be improved upon. So this opened the door to possibilities of design and creativity even for someone like me.
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
A well thought out Information Architecture (IA) matters! By focusing on organizing, context structuring and labeling content are some of the basics for Informational Architecture to help with effective and sustainable ways for users.
TYPOGRAPHY
For me typography is a game changer if used correctly, it has become more and more important in my understanding of design and the whole marketing aspect of designing websites.
REVIEW COUNTY WEBSITES
This activity was interesting in so many aspects in helping understand the many different ways to do the same procedure. It also helped bring a good perspective on designing.
SCENARIOS
1. You'd like to vote in this years election, since your just moved and have a new address in Loup County, Nebraska so your not sure what voting precinct your in.
2. Your son is turning 16 soon and is looking forward to driving, he is wondering where he needs to go to take the written driving test in Loup County, Nebraska.
3. Your wife is curious if they can build a home on the new property that you just purchased in Loup County, Nebraska.
4. Your grandpa always talks about a picture of him in in Loup County, Nebraska in a red wagon sometime in the 1950's.
SKETCHES
This was a basic attempt to sketch some ideas on paper of the five ideas from the Home Screen, Voting Information Page, Drivers Information Page, Building Permit Page and the Photo History Page. This helped build the foundation for the next steps.
USER TESTING
This is a valuable tool to help your development of your website to see how easy it is to navigate your set-up in Figma. By using user testing you can gain insights of how to help your website to become better and easier to follow.

FIGMA DEVELOPMENT
This is were most of the learning is happening, it is easy to look back now and see all of the mistakes or how I could of done it better during each stage of development. However like in all things your must go through some of the mistakes to get it right. Just get back up and start doing again.

PROTOTYPING
I believe the most important lesson or skill I may have taken in this project is what our teacher Adam Price called the GOSPEL in designing. That is to have a GRID on your Art Boards of design at all times. So remember GET your Grid out when you start designing. So the 3 G's of Prototyping is The Gospel, The Get, The Grid!

CONCLUSION
Again this project has been challenging and an interesting learning experience. These projects have you learning so much. Part of this learning experience is adjusting, or doing a redo, or making changes or starting over. I think I had to do all of these at some point this time. Working with Figma has become better, it is a great programming site. Over time, our weekly peer reviews have become so valuable, plus our weekly teacher Zoom meetings have been where the most growth happens. As one passes through the development stages of learning, it becomes evident that you can create a website, which at the beginning of this course seemed impossible. In the end I am grateful for what I have learned, however to emphasize what I think is the most important step I learned and what teachers have repeatedly ask to use in this project and others is The Gospel, The Get, The Grid!!!
