Below I've created a newspaper featuring 7 heavenly virtues. I chose virtues for the challenge and throughout the newspaper I combined digital and analogue methods to narrate a traditional perspective on each one. Depth of each of their meanings was explored both literally and ironically, then used to create a 20 page newspaper on a 55gsm paper tabloid. Inside, personal photography as well as found imagery are used to compel the mood.
The virtues were each uniquely iterated with the following methods:
Chastity/purity - found print / collage
Temperance - type focused
Charity/giving - personal photograph, full color
Diligence - personal photograph, duotone
Kindness - found object
Generosity - found image with hand written type
Humility - constructed image, type included
The cathedral naive on the cover, delivers a mood of sacredness that continues throughout the tabloid.
Your light shines in dark places when you are generous towards others.
When humility is walked out we reflect a beautiful God like quality.
