Folklore Inspired Fox Mask
Berry (my college) was hosting a masquerade themed semi-formal and I found myself in urgent need of a mask. I wanted something unique and with the help of Etsy and Pinterest, I decided I wanted to make a fox mask made with fur that blended into colorful feathers. I had an old but bland black mask as a base that I stripped off its original fabric and design. I built the muzzle with Eva foam clay knowing that it would keep the mask light weight while still being able to achieve the look I wanted. Then I added the fur on the still wet clay and trimmed it down to then blend with the added feathers. This was definitely a trust the process as I have never done anything like this or worked this much with fur.
