Imagine you're in the forest, taking a hike with your dog, when all of a sudden, something felt off. That's what I tried to create in this image. I love the forest and cryptid stories, so this piece was a combination of those things. I was heavily inspired by the stories of Skinwalkers, beings that can mimic human sounds in order to lure you deeper into the forest and deeper into their traps. I used layering techniques to combine multiple photos of forests in order to create one, cohesive piece. I used layering techniques to create the Skinwalkers themselves, as well as to create shadows and highlights to encourage more depth in the piece. Lastly, I used overlays to create a rainy, foggy, creepy atmosphere. While I love this piece and how it all blended together, I felt I could have done better on the Skinwalkers in blending them and potentially finding better photos in order to create them.
