Secret 7'' (2014)

SECRET 7'' is an annual event that combines music and art
for a good cause.

Each year, the organizers choose seven tracks from seven of the best known bands and artists, press seven hundred vinyls and invite creatives from around the globe to create the artwork in their own style for one of the seven tracks, resulting in one-of-a-kind sleeves for each copy.

The benefitted cause for the 2014 edition was War Child. And the chosen tracks and artists:
- "Age of Reason" by Black Sabbath
- "Grounds for Divorce" by Elbow
- "Strange Creatures" by Jake Bugg
- "Team" by Lorde
- "Karmacoma" by Massive Attack
- "Virginia Plain" by Roxy Music
- "Get it On" by T.Rex

The following coverage pieces, presented by The Vinyl Factory and Something For The Weekend, talk about the event, introduce some of the guest artists, and explain overall how the submission process works.
I had the immense privilege of being selected as a contributor for this edition with my own sleeve.

My sleeve design was inspired by Lorde's "Team".

This is my sleeve design as it was displayed days prior to the exhibition in the Secret 7'' virtual gallery and showcased physically at the Mother gallery in London (10 Redchurch St., London, E2 7DD) during
Record Store Day (April 12th, 13th, 16th and 19th of that year).

By the end of the exhibition, the gallery offered one last opening during Record Store Day UK (April 19th) to place the 700 sleeves up for sale. Fortunately, my sleeve was among those purchased by the visitors.
These are some of the media outlets that covered the event:
The event was a success, raising a record-breaking amount of £41,500 for War Child by the end of the edition.
