Illustrations for 'Burger Me'
The manager of a 'Burger Me'(fast food chain) restaurant in Utrecht wanted a drawing to liven up his restaurant a little. Later on after working out some ideas i then decided to make these portraits based on the people working there. The manager made a selection and told me these three people (who turned out as the burgers) deserved extra credit for the hard work they did recently. So he handed me some photos and i made these hamburger versions of them. I liked the play with the words (Burger Me) and also because in dutch 'burger' translates to 'citizen'.
The actual drawing is pretty big for what i usually do. It's roughly 120x180cm all done with lead pencil.
